I've had my 2016 Limited for about a year now and as summer came I was surprised that I could not find a way to open the windows from the outside before getting in the baking car. It's not so bad when I have a passenger who can open the other door as I do and let some cool air in, but when alone I'd like to be able to press and hold something on the remote (eg) to do it.
I can't even open the windows manually without getting in to the seat to press the start button (it's hard to reach from the entrance).
I have had that on VW and Volvos for 20 years and I miss it. I've searched the setup panel, the manual, and these forums this morning but can't find out if I'm missing something or Fords don't have it. I don't remember if my 2009 and 2012 Escapes had it. Thanks

Hi Robin.
The feature is called Global Open and Close. I don't believe the 2016 Limited has that feature. Later models had Global Open.
I checked the 2016 Owner's Manual and there is no mention of it. In order to open the windows from the inside, the vehicle must be in accessory mode or running.

Thanks for that, Peter. That's amazingly pathetic for a top-of-the-line vehicle.
