I'm just wondering how much timing control that I have on the DIS-4. Basically, I need to be able to retard about 4 degrees for the whole RPM band as I'm thinking about putting in a chip or using the Power Programmer III without having to use premium fuel. With DIS and OBD-II, timing adjustments aren't that easy without extra equipment, unlike the days of adjusting the timing with the distributor. My roommate has a chip on his '94 Mustang, and he adjusted the timing back 4 degrees and runs regular just fine. In fact, it runs awefully well for a 302 with 150k miles.
