Where are you guys getting these ignition systems, what do they come with, and how much do they cost? I've been on the lookout for one for quite some time now. Thank you.

Any performance auto store should carry them. Online, check out Dead Link Removed www.wrenchead.com or www.carparts.com (although watch it with carparts.com, as they seem to be ripping people off - see the thread in general explorations).

Has anyone had any experiance with MSD ignition? I know they sell an off-road ignition box that works with 4, 6, or 8 cylinder engines. Check it out and tell me what you think. www.msdignition.com/ (under the automotive products then ignition and then off-road) Thanks.

I've been looking for a MSD for my truck, but all I seem to find is Borg Warner.. Trying to make this a street machine.. Dead Link Removed
I don't know if the off road one would do what I would like it to.

I think the MSD box would work fine for street use. I might buy one soon, if I do I'll tell ya about it.

Boys, i am you savior. I am the owner of a MSD DIS-4, which is the only MSD ignition that will work on your cars. its a little much, (346.90) from summit racing, but wel worth it. I dont know the exact #'s, but i did get btter gas milage, and quicker acceleration. This box will work for off-road or street vehicles (what i have). You can order special mounts so it will better handle the terrain if you go off-road. The best place i found to mount the unit, is on the inner passanger fenderwell, way in the corner. The part # is MSD-6215. It was a breeze to hook up, took me about 30 minutes. It comes with the unit and the wiring harness. I can tell you to skip all that reading crap, it confused the hell outta me, just go staight to the diagram, and double check all the connections, and check again, because one grounded dark brown wire, that looks black can keep you stumped for awhile. Well get it, and love it, cause i did.

Look in a JC Whitney catalog, you have to look through a bunch of crap, but you will eventually find the MSD ignition. You can get a free catalog delivered to your house if you go to http://www.jcwhitney.com

Yes I have the MSD-DIS4 ignition. First, it was not hard to install. However, I was not impressed with the quality of the wiring harness(generic-one size fits all). I made a bracket and mounted the unit on the top of the A/C compressor (there is very little room under the hood). Second, I'm uncertain of any performance or milage gains att [It does "Appear"(subjective statement) to start easier]. Also, you WILL need to purchase two TAC-modules (signal amps) if you want your Tacometer to work after the install. They are an additional cost of $32-$40 each--I'm still waiting on mine to arrive in the mail. Lastly, after I get everything buttoned-up I'll monitor the performance & milage and give a full report.

Thanks for your input, fellas. Dead Link Removed
