MT/r Kevlar on beach question

Ive had these mounted up for a while and have had them in everything, BUT even having them in sand im not sure how they are on beach sand, for the localish guys im going to brigatine for a 4x4 parade on saturday. My main question is am i better off airing down or keeping them where they are? ive had some tires that had best flotation at general psi, but im not sure which route to go being the first beach experience with these, any inputs awesome, dont wanna embarrass myself :D
 






What's the sand like?

Ask you self these questions: What's the sand like there? How many miles are you planning to do on the sand? will you be going up hills on the sand?

I take my truck on the beach a lot, I clock up thousands of miles a year on the sand. I have All Terrain non Radial tires and I like to go down to 13psi myself.

It's better to have your truck float on top of the sand rather than pushing through it.

The harder your tires are the harder you truck will have to work, especially when the sand is soft. In my experience I find it's dam near impossible to get an Explorer bogged in the sand, Explorers do the sand well. What you want to do is protect your Auto tranny from high temperatures and burning the fluid inside. The engine will take a beating on the beach all day, your Auto tranny will not at high temperatures.

At the correct pressure you will find your truck will roll without much resistance from pressing into the sand. With your "Radial" tires you have stiffer walls and may want to go down to 10psi to climb the hills. Because you also have a "Mud Terrain" tread pattern you will probably find they like to dig when you spin them, thats ok it's all good fun, just try not to bottom it out when your doing that at the crest of dunes though, otherwise you will need a shovel to get it out.

If I was you I would start at 15psi and go from there.;)
 






i appriciate it, as far as i know the beach im going to has very fine sand, some of the finest in fact, my main concern is keeping pace with everyone being a parade on the beach. normally when im in sand im pedalling through it no problem but for this instance im assuming will be a slow cruise then playing later. the kevlar mtr's have impressed me in sand and have also had not much need to stop in it so that was another concern. Im used to sugar sand not beach sand, who knows it may be no issue but im trying to figure out the best way to enjoy the day
