I just got a Sony Explode and will pull out the stock radio. I have a 91 xl. I'm assuming just sliding it in won't hold it in place. Do I have to tighten it with a bracket in the rear, does it snap into the old HU springs or what? If I must pull the dash, how do I do this? One last question, which wire is the constant power and which is accesory, yellow or red so I can use the wire kit correctly. Thanks guys.

Explorer Grrl....;)

The dash just pulls apart except for the two ashtray screws you will have to take out.If you have automatic put the gear selector down to the lowest gear to get it out of the way, once you get it away from the dash it is pretty self explanotory from there.Did you buy a wiring kit and amp bypass:D

I believe red would be constant.

I just installed a new HU in my 94' and you won't be able to use the old HU springs. I installed the radio in front of the dash front and had a gap, so I installed it behind the dash front and still had a gap. I was told that it should have come with a faceplate, but I still haven't found out if it needs to be installed behind or in front . My HU didn't come with a faceplate so I am trying to locate one.

On my Pioneer HU yellow is constant, red is for accessory power.
