Does anyone know if the newer style Mustang wheels will fit on a 93 Exp.? I plan on putting them on the truck to give it a new look. The wheels I want are the split 5 star type or the Cobra type R's. Will this lower the truck any? Has anyone done this or got any pics? I think it'll look good and unique. Thanks for any help....

Do you have a 2wd or 4wd?

i saw a 91-94 sport with cobra r wheels at the beach it looked sweet as for lowering it i dont think so

I have a 2wd. I plan upgrading engines soon, too. Hopefully to a 5 liter. I gotta have more speed, this sled is just too slow. I want the wheels to look good too.

I wouldnt think it would lower it, the cobra Rs are 17x9, and considering that most stock explorer wheels are 15 inch. My 99 sport has 16x7s on it though. So I would think if you used similar tires you would actually be a inch bigger. Thats just my common sense thinking. Hope I helped

Yes they will fit. They definately fit 2wd and I don't see any reason why they wouldn't fit 4wd, the hub diameter is the same as the flange on the rear axle. Here is a picture of a Bronco II with 17" Mustang wheels. Dead Link Removed

The Cobra R wheels will fit a 2wd truck, however, they will NOT fit over the front hub on a 4wd truck. Check out the link below and see for yourself. Dead Link Removed

Are those wheels on a Explorer? If so, what year? They look awesome and I think I might order some soon.

Explorer Express runs the 17 x 9s with 275/55s on one of their demo vehicles. They stick out a little past the wells in the front, but those rims are beautiful. They could probably send you a photo.

By the way, Paul, the Bronco II in the photo you referenced has 16 x 7s off a '94 Mustang.

The wheels in the picture of the Bronco II are 17x8 Mustang wheels. This truck belongs to good personal friend of mine. I know exactly what is on it. By the way if you look closely you can see the tips of the dual exhaust on this 5.0L equipped truck.

Is that Bronco fast? I am thinking about swapping a 5 liter in my Exp. Does he have any pics of the engine bay or installation procedures? What 1/4 times has he run?

Paul:

Well, I knew they weren't the 9" Cobra R rims. You're right, the 3 spoke style is 17" Dead Link Removed. It's a cool looking Bronco II, regardless.
