could be a number of things.. but need more info about ranger.. is it Lifted, stock, oversized tires?
if its only doing it in flex:
If u have large tires, u could be rubbing in the wells as u flex and roll
If your lifted, could be your drive shaft is put in a bind in an awkward position
as far of inside the pumpkin, if it was noise from there, i cant think of anything that would make noise when only in flex, if it was something in there it would make noise all the time...
Does it sound kinda like a dinosaur mating call? Mine would, when I had the rear axle flexed enough while wheeling. It was the rotating driveshaft rubbing against the edge of the gas tank skidplate.
If you see any shiney sections (clean of rust) on the driveshaft of skidplate, that's probably it.
