- 2005 ranger xlt
my silver 2005 ford ranger xlt is set up for my needs as a carpenter / builder / all around home improvement technician ( i hate the term "handyman" ). With lumber racks and a matching shell I am ready to go in all weather. I have constructed a 3 drawer tool box designed to the specifications of my trucks bed. I have firestone accuride air bags with the on board compressor so that I can adjust the ride on the fly. This also allows me to set the tailgate height where I want it to be to use as a work surface which varies depending on where I may have to park. As a rule I always park as close to whatever the work happens to be because of the tools that I use and my truck is the most important tool I own! Besides that way I do not have to have the truck stereo cranked to hear it. I have installed the K and N air filter system and I will be loosing the stock exhaust system soon. With the K&N my milage went from 17 to 18 and that was cool! Plus it sounds more throatier(sp?). I have those silver and black collapsible window shades which I put around all of the windows and I take my breaks in my truck. Ill sit there @ lunch and when it is hot and it regularry gets to over 100 in the Napa Valley and in Lake County Ca where I live, and crank my AC untill it is too cold in my truck. I love my Ranger and how well it has adapted to my needs. It is the first truck which I bought new and I try to keep it that way.
