Hi
I was wondering if you guys can take a look at my new rims and tell me what you think.
Also I am debating if I should take the bug deflector off an have the new "EXPLORER" letters installed on the hood.Personally I think that it would look great black letters on white hood
Thank you

Hi

They are nice... they are not my personal style, but that's what's great about custom wheels, they are supposed to reflect your own style.

It would look awesome if you could drop it about 1.5" - 2", but I don't know what's available for our cars in that regard. It would probably make the ride feel like crap and cause all kinds of rubbing as well. :)

I have to admit that they do look nice. I'm not really a fan of the large wheels. In fact if 17" wheels were an option on the Limited, I would have taken them. I had to serve to avoid a dog the other day and the right front wheel made hard contact with the curb. Thank goodness I had already installed my 17" Winter wheels. The OEM 20" wheel would have had severe damage to it.
When I go in for my V3.5.1 update tomorrow I'll have them check the alignment just in case.

NOt my style at all but i guess they look allright. Did you keep the old wheels so you can put some grips on it for winter??

i like them too bad i have not seen a drop for these yet

A simple snapshot would have done just fine.....but NNNNOOOOO, you had to go with a video showing you cruising up and down the block....geez...Canadians.... :D

I like'em...As long as they stay in the wheel well and look like that...I would do the same with mine!

Thank you for your thoughts .In the end you like what you like and I like them.

Well, they say opinions are like a$$holes (everyone has one), so here's mine. I'm not a fan of bolt or stick on stuff like bug deflectors, the plastic over the side windows, mudflaps, floorboards etc. The lines of the OEM explorer are what sets it apart from the others and is the reason that attracted most people that have bought the explorer, to the explorer. If it were mine, I would loose the bug deflector and the floorboards.

However, I do like the rims, and if the look you're going for is more of a "slammed" look, and you think the floorboards give it more of that look, then leave them on, but black-out the chrome strip on them. It detracts from the black lines of the whole bottom of the truck.

Once you remove the bug deflector, the EXPLORER letters would look good. But, avoid the black letters (to much of a contrast) and go with chrome letters (more subtle) and will compliment the chrome strip at the back that has Explorer on it.

Great looking truck by the way. Good luck with it.

Bug thang has to go, so old school! :thumbdwn: On the other hand don't like the stick on letters either. I did the 3M front end protection so I couldn't do the letters even if I liked them.

What are the wheel specs?

Those wheels weight a ton. The unsprung weight will effect the handeling. But, with that said, it's still an SUV, so that won't matter a ton. Depends how you drive it.

What tires are you running now? Low side walls introduce a whole list of other potential problems and harsher ride characteristics.

I hate badging. Less is more. Everyone knows it's a "Limited" and everyone knows it's an "Explorer", so I see no need in putting more badging on.

Wait till you see what the bug guard does after a snow fall.

Your tire costs just went up, too.

The only person that has to like it, is YOU! Enjoy.
