Hello all. I am a new member and am looking forward to lots of talk about exploders.
My '94 has a couple problems... Once in a while, It will idle rough when it is warm, and once in a while it won't shift into overdrive; it seems like this usually happens when the engine is restarted when already warm also.
I am in the process of solving the rough idle; I started with replacing the EGR valve (rusty as hell) and am waiting on a new EGR line since they are hard to find. I think this problem will be fairly straight forward to fix, but may require some additional testing of the MAF, IAC and TPS.
I don't really know where to begin with the intermittent overdrive problem. If it is intermittent, it can't be the overdrive solenoid, can it? It seems that the engine runs at idle and overall when this problem occurs. Could this issue be linked to the rough idle and emmision control system in any way?
PS. I recovered the error codes and I don't recall all of the exact codes at the moment but there were 3 codes reported...
186-- injector pulse width too long
336/536? (Can't remember) -- EGR flow too high
Sorry, I forgot the 3rd code as well; I have to find the piece of paper I wrote them down on, but it had to do with emission control system also.
Any advice?
