LOL, can i join the alpine crap club?

NICE!
I have the MRD-M300.
Great features.

Class D does not stand for digital, though.

How many watts RMS is it?

The amp says nothing about Class D. It says Mono Amp. And it is digital. Go to there website and read.

The test papers they sent with the amp says 1091 watts RMS. I saw this amp at a convention in Tenn. with a watt meter hooked to it and it was actually running 1991 watts at 14.4 volts. Very awesome amp.

According to
this it is 1000 watts RMS at 2 ohms and 14.4 volts, or 700 watts RMS at 2 ohms and 12 volts...

$900 MSRP for an amp that is only stable down to 2 ohms, rated at 14.4 volts and only puts out 1000 watts? Please tell me you somehow managed to pay no more than than $200 for this.

Those specs seem pretty good to me. Why are they not worth 200 bucks?

I'll be gettin the full 1800 watts out of it. I'll explain all this tomarrow as I am drinkin the devils juice. I paid $800 for it by the way. Plus another $80 for the remote.

Oh and with the specs......1600 watts bridged at 2 ohms.

Can i make that my new favorite quote? LMAO!!!

Just MO, but I picked up a brand new $950 MSRP amp for $300 that puts out 1600 watts RMS at 1 ohm and 12.5 volts, or approximately 1843 watts RMS at 1 ohm and 14.4 volts, and is also stable to 1 ohm. For comparison's sake, it will also put out 800 watts RMS at 2 ohms and 12.5 volts, or approximately 922 watts RMS at 2 ohms and 14.4 volts.

Remember, max power means next to nothing. Heck, the max power on my amp is probably over 3000 watts. Will it ever put that out? Sure, if you cool it with liquid helium, use no more than 4 inches of 1/00 guage wire from the battery (which also has a 200 amp alternator spinning at 10,000 RPM charging it through a 4 inch length of 1/00 gauge wire) to the amp, and let hitting 3000 watts for .00001 second before destroying the power supply count.

Also, they're on eBay for $532 bought right away, shipped, warrantied, and insured.

If what you say about the amp at the convention in Tenn. is true, then this is one amazing amp. Judging by specs, if it could go to one ohm it would easily destroy my amp. But all that I have ever read, heard, or seen has lead me to believe that Alpine does only one thing well: Headunits.

And subs:D

Theres not a single amp out there that Class D stands for Digital. Class D is simply an amp that is made for nothing but subs. Why?? Cause the amps distortion level is much higher so you don't hear it in subs like you would if you wired it up to a pair of componets.

This amp IS digital from input to output. You can argue all you want with me over it but theres things I know and I don't know. I know Alpine. I've been to several conventions with Alpine and I'm a certified Alpine installer.

One thing you have to remember about Alpine amps. The more volts you can push to them the better performance. Thats why 14.4 volts is HIGHLY recommended for Alpines. We built Mustang at the shop I work at now with nothing but Alpine in it for sound quality. We run one 14 volt battery to the amps and you can hear the difference when it runs down to 12 volts. But did you know that this amp will run all the way up to 14.9 volts before shutting down??? I don't recommend it but thats what I've seen from them so far. I'm taking the amp to the shop monday to see what it'll do on the meter. I'll let you know.
