Okay, so I bought a new heater core, hoses, blower motor and wheel and installed them last weekend. Being a dumb*%#& I cut and removed the two hoses that connect to the heater core at the firewall without remembering which hose connects to which inlet/outlet. One hose connects to the top of the engine block, the other hose to bottom of the engine block. The original core has the letter "L" above the left inlet/outlet (as you are looking at the firewall). I assumed this to mean "Lower" so I connected the lower hose to this inlet/outlet. Seems to run fine, just want to make sure I made the right connections. Can someone look at their 1992 and let me know? At least the odds were 50-50.

On my 92 the driver side hose goes to the top and the passenger side hose goes to the bottom. Good luck.

heater core

I don't think it would matter at all. It is just a radiator and is not directional.

Gage is correct. On your 92 it won't make a difference.

On later models there's a valve that blocks water flow to the core unless the heater is on.

Really!

Thanks for the info! I would have been in trouble in the future

Again thanks!
