I know this should probably be in the Other makes and Models Forum, but my dad has put together a nice setup for his car. He has a '96 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor Edition. He got it stripped down a couple years ago, but then turned around and bought most of the stuff the police took off. He replaced the center console with his two scaners and ham radio, put on the exterior spotlights, and custom bumper. It looks exactly like a undercover cop car now. It's funny, he has never got a ticket in it, and people never speed around him.;)

Boy that car is clean:D

with those sunglasses on.. he looks like a cop too..... just needs that shotgun mounted in between the front seats

your father sounds like a sick man :)

why is he sick? i want an undercover cop car.... those things are fast and you dont get pulled over in them......

Sweet idea! that looks perfect, even down to the trim missing off the drivers door, and no hubcaps.:)

I've wanted to get a crown vic for a while. They are one of the few cars I actually fit in (6' 8") that have decent power and don't look like grampa cars :).

That's a brilliant idea... completely legal, yet anyone who has a clue can spot it easily... That'd be a fun ride :)

sweet, I want one! how much can ya buy one for?

Check ebay they have lots of them:D

yeah ebays always got a bunch of them. Also you can check local police auctions, most only use the cars until they get about 100,000 miles or so then put them up for auction. Gotta watch out though, often the cars are abused and have body damage, etc. especially if they were involved in chases, pit maneuvers, etc. Some day I hope to get one, I wouldn't really care if it was police interceptor or not, just would like a car I could fit in and go fast and not look too sporty or too old :).

Hey thanks for the heads up. I'll have to keep my eye open for it next time I cruise through Woodland Park. Like there isn't enough cops in that town already!

Peace,
JT

When I become a Senator one day ;) I am going to make it illegal for any person to drive a cop car look-a-like or for a cop to drive a standard passenger vehicle. That way nobody is fooled. Happy trails:D

I went to high school with a kid who's dad worked for the highway patrol. He (the kid) drove a ex Arizona DPS Mustang that still had everything but the lights, markings and radios in it. That thing was so much fun to cruze up and down I-17 in :D He also had one of thoes dash strobe units he stole from his dad and we use to use it to pull over chicks and scare friends. Man I miss thoes days.

when i fix my truck it will look and sound like a convertible fire truck... long story dont ask.... it will unique and have red and white front strobes that alternate in patternsa and also a 100 watt air horn/pa :) yes, i am sick..... ;)

Well my dad thanks everyone for their comments. I really like driving his car. The other day some WP Police were following me around, probably wondering why a teenager was driving an unmarked cop car. Since my dad had a scanner, I heard them talking about me and checking the plates.:D

hey Chris if I get a crown vic think your dad can help me with it? ;).
That's hilarious, but posing as a cop (like mrboyle discussed) I believe is a felony.

FYI, Be careful with that scanner. They are illeagal to have in a Car.

Matt I have always wanted one of these... LOL My dad however always says they are grandpa cars... :) I think they would be the ultimate sleeper cars. Get the one with teh 4.6L V8 then get all the mods you can to it stick em on and you could very well get a fast car! It's the same engine they use in the Mustang so I betcha you could find a number of upgrades for it. Then take one to the drag strip and surprise the hell out of everyone!
