my ex got stolen need help

yeah my explorer got stolen right in front of my house at 6 in the morning.i filed the police report 2 weeks later the cops found the ex in a field. so i head out happy as can be to retrieve my explorer, to my dismay the a-holes who jacked my car blew the tranny or something. the explorer doesnt go over 3000 rpms and there is this really weird noise. any ideas? thanks for the help

I dont have an alarm but Ive always wanted to install a kill switch on mine.

I usually unplug the fuel cutoff thing under the dash if I'm parking it somewhere shady for more than a few hours. Its good to hear that they found it though.
