my explorer is acting wierd

when my explorer has run for about 20 minutes it starts to idle fast {1100 rpm)in gear.and if i have to sit at a stop light very long it starts to get hot.anyone have any idea what would cause this.the cooling system was flushed and filled last year and it is still full.the check engine light doesnt come on.anyone have any ideas i would appreciate it.it is a 2000 sport with 58000 miles on it.

Try changing your thermostat in your truck and see if it improves.
