Hey guys, I have a 99 sport with the 4.0 OHV and auto tranny. Im having two problems with my explorer right now. 1) My explorer has developed this annoying studder/ jerk around 1500-2500 rpm's when you keep it at a constant throttle. It jerks/studders about every 3-4 seconds. It feels like it's either the motor has a miss or the tranny is messing up. I can feel it coming from somewhere under the console about midway. The weird thing is that it only does it on slight slopes. When I go up steep hills tacking out around 3-4k rpm's it doesnt miss a beat. Idk what's going on but this has been going on for about 4 months now and I just want to know what it is. My check engine light came on around 103,000 and it now has almost 115,000 on it. I scanned it a while back and it was giving me an exhaust code. The guy from advance told me it was running either a little too rich or a little too lean but I don't remember. He tried telling me I need two new exhaust manifolds which I find hard to believe. My mechanic told me it is probably the o2 sensor which is common on these. Any ideas on what it is? 2nd problem is that my oil pressure gauge bounces all over the place and my oil press is lower than what it used to be. It did the same thing last year but only did it for a day or two, it has been doing it now for almost a week. As soon as it started getting cold up here it started bouncing when I first started it but seemed to stop once it warmed up. I changed the oil with valvoline 5w30 and put a new fram filter on and now it does it even worse and does not go away after it warms up. When I did change the oil, I dumped almost all of the 5 quart jug in it and it was barely rading on the dipstick like something is clogged on the top end but now it's reading fine?! I did notice too that my gauge does seem to bounce when I hit bumps in the road sometimes, not all of the time? Maybe the gauge is broke? Has anybody ever experienced these problems before? Thanks!
