nnnick- dude i thought i explained this i'm going to be painting the entire front end of the truck lapis blue including the grille and then having the transition from blue to white as flames which will be accented wth pearl and will be ending on the hood and fenders with a few just creeping onto the front doors. with the possiblity of some pearl ghost flames on top and maybe a skull or two or "mystic" pearl ghost 5.0 or cobra emblem, and also possibly a little blue showing up on the rear of the truck as well. however, thats not gonna be done until april at the earliest due to the nasty winter here and i won't be doing anything but primer until then...
should i do a hood scoop? ad should i mold my side skirts in? i can't decide on either for sure...
i keep telling expo to re rout his exhaust and have it come out the side skirt or have 2 cutout holes in the rear side panel of the bumper and have them come out the same side. that what im doin its gonna look sick. i think expo should do something like that too
i dont particularly care for the hood.....but thats just my opinion. its nice, but i dunno.....id say get a saleen hood if you really wanted a different hood than stock.
well if i ever do put a whole exhaust system on i will have a corvette style rectangular tip out each side directly below the rear quarter panels pointed directly out the side. i actually have an apointment to do just that on monday if i feel like dropping the $$$ (i will if my mountie stuff all fits with no more $$$ out than i already have paid)
i actually think the idea of havign it come through a body panel would look tacky unless the truck was so low that it was the only option. i laugh at the shelby durangoes when i see them- don't know about you guys.
i won't do the hood scoop (if you guys who i respect say no to it and it costs $$$ and more importantly time i could spend elsewhere i really souldn't do it).
you know what i love most about your truck? every little custom one of a kind thing you do to it to make it yours . Like the flamed grill, mountie front, etc etc. Nice truck and Awesome work man!
Bumper looks great Expo. I dont know about the Mounty grill though. I've never liked the mounty grill, even on stockers. Doesnt flow well with the lines of the rest of the truck. Oh well, if youre doing it, i'm sure it can look good
it doesn't flow quite as well- but i like that. its more of the modern angled take on design which is popular on virtually every new car and truck. I want this X to be nice enough to compete with just about anything and i just didn't see that working with it looking like it had headlights from 1986. I definitely agree though that the stock stuff has a real nice flow to it and it was an awesome design (but in 1994 or 1995) it was just time for something new for me and this truck.
That looks awesome! Are you going to leave the grill center section as is or take it out and make a custom insert? I've thought for some time that a Mounty grill would look good with and F150 like mesh set back or just open.
