I recently changed plugs and gapped them at .064 due to the Jacobs dis I have been running, but a few days later...the truck wouldn't turn over ?,when I raised the hood....I noticed some sparks coming from the Jacobs harness where it plugs into the truck.
fact is,the Jacobs really didn't do to much, the truck ran smoother.....but can that be due to the increased gap without the Jacobs installed ?.
I'm going to try backing down the gap to stock,or slightly above stock and see how it responds ?

what gap are you guy's using for the sohc ?

my 94 has the gap of .044" or .44" (i forget, its one of those) but it should be listed on your emission control label

if your jacob's unit is broke, return it, i think they should have a warranty

The stock gap on SOHC is .054-.056. Unfortunatly the Jacob's ignition systems don't have a high reliablitly rating nor do you need an aftermarket ignition system with a stock SOHC. You can reduce the plug gap to .048-.052 and get the same results as you netted with the Jacobs units. Your not the first person that's had a Jacob's ignition go bad, if you want I can put you in touch with another.
