my low beams wont come on.

when i turn on my lights, i only get high beams, i can't get low beams and all my lights are fine, and all fuses are fine, what could be the problem?

1st Gen. Xs seemed to have weak headlight switches. Take a look at the back of your switch where the wires connect and you'll probably find you need a new switch.

on my truck, its weird, the high beams shut off the low beams, essentially making no difference in the amount of light put out. the only time it works if i use the passing lights. thats when its bright, but i don't like holding the switch foward for high beams

could it be my switch too?

On most all Xs except the newer ones (06,07 ??) the low beams do go off when the high beams are turned on.
There are some posts in the Lighting forum & in the FAQs that explain how to keep the lows on with the high beams. Easiest way is using a harness & diode as described in the FAQs.
