So it's been pretty cold in Colorado today. This morning I went to open the rear drivers side door and it was frozen shut. I of course was freezing and in no mood to deal with a frozen door, so I yanked too hard and now have a broken exterior doorhandle.
Has anyone ever replace the exterior door handle on the 2006 (or similar model) explorer? The interior handle is the one that's integrated into the front of the rest and it has power windows.
I've pulled the interior door panel on my 06 Mustang and think I might have something similar, but I've never replaced the exterior handle on any vehicle before. I have done lock cylinders and the like, so I am not afraid of making more stupid mistakes and I consider myself to be a fairly solid shadetree mechanic.
Any advice or insight is appreciated. My hour long search through the net has yielded zero results.
