Clean your MAF and IAC with electrical cleaner. Wouldnt hurt to take apart the intake and clean the throttle body as well. Check the link in my signature, I have some how to vids.

where is the maf located at?

also throttle body has a sticker that sais not to clean it. and that it has a special coating?

i also found the maf it was hiding in a black cover

ok. when i pulled out my maf this was there

Dont take the screws out just spray the cleaner in the intake tube.

fixed. thank you guys alot.

So it was the iac or maf?

i actually sprayed out both of them so i have no idea? will cleaning the throttle tube help with anything ? the idle is still a little rough not like smooth smooth. and also sometimes my truck wont let me switch into second gear right when i want. shifting up it sometimes makes me wait, as in it wont go in. any ideas?

Is the check engine light on? Sounds like a vacuum leak or an O2 sensor.

Cleaning the throttle body will definitely help smooth out the idle a little more. There is a small "hole punch" size hole in the middle of the throttle body and sometimes that gets clogged up and restricts air flow.

Have you put fresh gas in it yet?

Hows the trans fluid level?
For the shifting you might want to look into a speed sensor.

oh. then i will definitely get on that. thank you so much.

and yes i did i filled it 3/4 ran that tank out then filled it up and put injector cleaner in it.

and have not yet checked the transmission fluid where do i see it at??

i will deff look into getting a new speed sensor hopefully the price is not too high.

Speed sensors are only about 20 bucks. Try www.rockauto.com. To check the trans fluid level take it for a ride to warm up the trans. Pop the hood WITH THE ENGINE STILL RUNNING and there will be a transmission dip stick next to the fire wall. Pull it out and wipe it off then put it back in then pull it out and check the fluid level. There will be a full cold mark and full warm mark. They might be on opposite sides of the dip stick. It should be at the full warm mark. If its below, put a funnel in the dip stick hole and add a quart of ford compatible automatic transmission fluid.

negative it went off after i sprayed those parts out.

and

jl will do and i will let you know the outcome!

also!!!!!!!

seems that when i was under my truck to change the fuel filter i found that my gas filler hose was cracked at the top a little! any wayof repairing this??? i dont want to spend 100 + shipping on a rubber hose :/

My fuel hoses are very rusty as well. I would like to run all new metal hoses but I dont know if im going to, might just run rubber. Easier to run and cheaper.

A temporary fix if its leaking is cut out the bad or worst section of hose and run rubber hose with clamps in its place. Just make sure you use some kind of sealer on both ends so you dont have any leaks.

So the check engine light was on? If so goto your local parts store and get the codes pulled. See what they are.

That is the first thing i did when my truck started misfiring. i got some new plugs and plug wire and that fixed it up. i think the light went off after i sprayed out the maf and iac because the miles i put on it inbetween the two fixes. they guy at autozone told me that after i fix the problem to the check engine light it will not turn off immediately it will turn off after about 75 miles.

i will do that and let you know as well as let you know about how the TB cleaning went.

also:
when you used the clr in the tranny flush how long did you run the car for with it in? just 10 minutes ya?
i flushed mine with just pressurized water and not the flush so i was thinking of doing this to see what came out.

I really really hope you mean radiator flush and not transmission flush.

With the CLR RADIATOR flush I ran the truck up to temp (1/2 way on the engine temp gauge) and let it idle for 10 minutes with the heat on full blast.

haha yes i mean radiator flush sorry.

and did you use clr and water or just clr?

Reset the PCM/ECU to let it relearn your engine's proper characteristics now that you've cleaned the MAF and IACV. Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to reset then reconnect it. It will take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days or 100mi or so to relearn and correctly manage the engine. You may find the idle nice and smooth after the computer relearns everything.
