N20 on a 4.0??

N20 on a 4.0
Well my dad is a older guy who used to always have sport cars and he still has the wants to go fast.

He has a 94 explorer sport and wants to put a nitrous kit on it. Has anyone possibly run a kit on the 4.0 6cyl before. Sorry to say it to you guys but i am a chevy guy and i am not exactly sure on the quality of the internals when it comes to the use of nitrous on this engine.

I am guessing possibly a 50 or 75 shot. Anyone know the type of piston design and the material they are made out of?

I have to admit it is a damn good truck and is decently quick since he special ordered it. No 4 wheel drive, auto, larger rear end gear i am not exactly sure of the size but it is just below a 3.73.

Well sorry to keep talking but if you have any info on running a N20 kit on a explorer let me know. Or what other power mods actaully help this vehicle.

i dont really have any direct answers to your questions, except, yes, people do run nitrous on explorers. if you try using the search feature on the page, youll find some threads about it. other than nitrous, you can get a supercharger for the 4.0 in a 94 - its the OHV engine. you can also get computer chips (i.e.: superchips, hypertech, etc.), air intake kits (K&N, KKM, etc.) and obviously exhaust, as well as heads, headers, cams, etc. the list goes on and on.
