Naming a Paired / Synced Phone

I just bought a new phone. I deleted my original phone from Sync and paired the new one. It works fine but I can't remember how to change the name of the phone on the car's screen. The dealer set up my original phone when I bought the vehicle and the screen would show "Gary's Phone."

Now the screen simply shows the name of the phone and I can't figure out how to change it from the phone model name to my own name.

I've searched online and on this site without any luck. Any help appreciated.

Change it on your phone, and then it should update on your car's screen.

This new phone does not have the ability to change the device name. It's a Moto Z2 Force and I searched the Moto forums and confirmed that you can't change the name.

The dealer did something on the Synch screen and entered my name and my daughter's name as two phones paired to the car. I guess I could take a trip to the dealer but I was hoping there was a user friendly way to D-I-Y.

I didn't see anything in the Owner's Manual on it either. I paired mine to my 2017, I don't recall doing the name using my phone.
