ok after following tests suggested in my shop manual i have narrowed my battery light problem down to a short in factory jbl sound system. heres how that went. the test is as follows. discnect the positive side of the battery and run a test light in series between the cable and the post , the light should light dimly showing a small drain for the clock and radio memory and such .If the light is lit brightly a coponent is till drawing power(a short to ground )to find the origin you must start pulling fuses one at a time untill the light goes out . after pulling all my fuses inside i started on the power distribution box. When i came to the premium sound system fuse the ligth went out . After removing the passenger side reaer interior molding and unhooking the factory amplifier and replacing the fuse instead of it going out it started to flicker . At this point I'm lost . any ideas anyone ?

time to ditch the factory amp and upgrade the stereo system.... wala! no more battery light problem..... good job diagnosing it... i would have pulled the lightbulb out of the idiot light or just put duct or electrical tape over it....
