I keep getting codes 336 and 337 for my EGR. I have changed the vacum sensor, the solenoid, the hoses to the solenoid, and the actual valve and still no luck. The vacum lines seem to be intact and provide suction. I have a 95 Explorer XLT 4WD with OBD I. I am trying to find a decent wiring diagram to see if the wiring is still good. Or if you have any other suggestions I would be glad to hear them because I'm out of ideas.

Are you sure you don't mean P0336? If that is the code it's the crankshaft position sensor.

I appologize. The codes where P0326 and P0327 High and Low voltage Output from the EGR Sensor. Predominately its the P0327. I found a diagram in the Hayes manual. According to what I'm reading I should have 4 to 6 volts DC at the EGR Sensor connector. I don't. Only .10 volts DC. I have checked all the wiring for continuity and the wires all seem ok.

The only question left is "Is the computer actually sending out the voltage needed to power this." I have tried to backprobe it with no sucsess. Unfortunaltely I also had to leave town and the Explorer behind before I got to finish this. Probing from the connector side I did have a resistance to ground.. About 33 Ohms. A) Thats alot of resistance. B) I think it getting that throught the O2 sensors or the Coolant Temp Sensor also powered by this same wire. Does this sound like a bad wire or computer? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Where are you reading the codes from. This is what I get

P0326 Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1 or Single Sensor)
P0327 Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Low Input (Bank I or Single Sensor)

Ok. On a OBD-1 Trouble code I'm primarily getting these two codes. 327 EGR Valve Position or Exhaust Pressure Transducer below minimum voltage and 336 Exhaust Pressure high - exhaust pressure transducer circuit voltage higher than expected. Sometimes I also get 337 EGR valve position or Exhaust Pressure Transducer circuit above maximum voltage. These codes are all so similar they bleed together. Copying these now from the memory of my Autoxray Codescout 2500. These do match with the codes in my Hayes book. Sorry for the trouble. Now any ideas about my possible wiring problem??

Are we going with the knock sensors now or are we going with the egr problem?

getting OBD1 codes 337,327,332 ?

I also have the same problem, and the same vehicle. I have been through it before. If you replace the DPFE sensor, egr pressure feedback sensor, or egr valve position sensor, whatever you want to call the little box with two vac hoses and a three prong plug. Anyway, I think that's the part you need. Be careful, there's two different connectors, a "D" shaped plug-in and an oval connector. Mine used a F37E-9J460-AA w/ the "D" connector, (Ford part). Good Luck

A '95 wasn't quite an OBDII system yet. To my understanding the Computer was good at picking out EGR faults.

OBD 1 code 336 = EGR circuit higher than expected. 337 = The EGR presure transducer/position sensor circuit above maximum voltage.

The sensor on the EGR valve is showing that it is open when its not suposed to be, like during idle and acceleration. Just Remove it and clean the carbon out of it with brake cleaner and see if that works first.

The '95 has a DPFE box (differential pressure feedback egr sensor) prone to go bad. Its a rectangular metal gadget with two hoses and three wires going to it. Its mounted with two screws on the intake near the EGR valve and cost a little over $40 at a parts store.

All three wires lead directly to the PCM. brn/lt grn- lead 27, brn/wht- lead 26, gry/red- lead 46. respectivly.

Good luck.
