Someone in my area is offering to sell the style of wheels I've been wanting for a while, but they have 4.5" backspacing. I thought I'd need something more like 3.75" since of the combo I want to run:

15x10 wheels
33x12.50 MTs

under a 2" suspension lift and 3" body lift. Will the 4.5" BS have the tires tucked in too far with that size of tire?

I need to know by Thursday! Thanks.

Edit: If they won't work, could I use wheel spacers? I don't have any experience with them.

yes that will pull the tires in to far for the width that you are looking for. 3.75 would be better.

I would not use wheel spacers with that big of a tire.

something to think about-

A 15x10 w/ 3.75" backspacing sticks way out on an Explorer. I mean, way way out. I had this same setup on mine with 33x12.50's. Exactly half of the tire is poking out of the fender. 4.5" of backspacing would only bring them in 3/4 of an inch, and they would still stick way out of the fender. Also, you would be a little less likely to rub fender when turning.

They guy said he double-checked the BS and it was actually 3.5". I think I might go with it unless any of you could forsee any problems with it. It's a pretty good deal-the wheels only have about 1500 miles of usage on them and he wants $150 for all four.

did you ever get them ?

No, the guy took them out of town with him over the weekend and sold them then, which was OK with me--turns out I needed the cash for other stuff. :(
