Need Advice on intake manifold replacement

Hi guys, new user here. I have an 05 XLT 4.0L SOHC that started running rough and nearly died. I talked with my dad and we figured it was misfiring so we got it back to his place and replaced the plugs and the coil pack but it was still failing. The wires look good so I took it to the repair shop Ive been going to and they said its either a cracked manifold or the manifold gasket and want 1070 bucks to fix it. So I want to ask her and see how hard is it to replace the manifold and or the gasket. I dont want to pay 1k if its not to bad a DIY. Im no mechanic but I can fix things ok I think. anyways thanks for any help

Dorman makes an intake manifold that is for 2002. But if you look at their fact sheet it says it's good for the 4.6 from 2002 to 2011. There's just an extra pork that you have to block off for coolant or something. If you search this forum you'll find threads on it.
