1995 ranger xlt automatic
I just bought a 1995 ranger xlt. 2.3 2wd (but hey i got it for 800.00) the engine is great nothing wrong with the truck. the inside is dirty and i plan to modify it and make it my own. I sold my p.t. cruiser that had 2 12" mtx and i miss that thunder. I really want that sound in my truck but its a single cab. I seen different truck boxs for ranger, but mostly for under seat in a crew cab. and what i've seen that would fit behind my seat just aint big enough. Anyways my point is the seat needs to be redone, and my idea to kill two birds with one stone is to build big enough speakerbox inside each of the seats. any tips or ideas? has anyone heard of anything like this before? :rangertan:

You could get bucket seats and make a custom box as your center console

I hope your not tall.. no matter what seats you have in there you will loose leg space. unless you do the buckets and have the subs in the center where there is no seat. Your other option would be to do a blow thru. where you put the subs in the bed and cut the back of the cab and bed and port the sound through. The depth of the sub may work, but the airspace is what will be hard. the average airspace needed for EACH sub is about 1.25-1.5 cubic feet.

Your other option would be to ditch the current subs you have and get new shallow mount subs. these require LOTS less airspace and about 1/3 - 1/2 the depth of a normal sub.

You can always consider a flat sub.... JL and Pioneer both make them... I had a Preimer flat 12" behind my drivers set for a while and it was super loud! You could also fit atleast one 10" in the center console area.

when i was in high school, i had pretty much the same truck (it was actually a mazda B). what me and my brother did was make a custom box that fit two 10"s in it and it fit right behind the seat. you will need to find a new place for your jack though, and the amp will need to mount to under the window to the side of the custom box. good luck and post picks!

I built a custom box for my cuz he has a Dakota as a center console/armrest its a ported 12" wide 15" tall 24"deep with a 2inch port it fit a 10 and it does some serious damage
