If anyone has the software to help me get the cutlists and such for a box for my new subs please reply to this, I will be running 4 Audiobahn AW1500X being powered by 2 DEI 1100d amps. I want 2 seperate boxes, both ported so I can take one out when not competing. Under specifications in the manual for the subs it says a 1.7 cuft enclosure with a 3" x 9.5" port will be tuned to 26hz, I want the box to be tuned to 45hz. If anyone can help me with this i'll be very grateful there is many ways to get ahold of me, AIM, Yahoo, IRC, just about everything but i'll wait till I get a reply :) Thanks in advance.

So what exactly are you wanting to do? You are wanting to have 2 separate boxes for 2 of your subs? 2 subs for daily driving and then put the other box in for comps? If that is so, that will be very impractical if you are wanting to put anything on your box(es) like carpet or vinyl. Another thing, keep in mind that 45hz is set for very loud and not very good for daily driving, you will get sick of it pretty fast. But if you still want to do it, you need to shorten your port. Shortening your port makes it tuned higher, lengthening it lowers the frequency. Personally, if I were you, I would make a port plug, to say the least. What you do is put in the plug for daily driving, which lowers the frequency, and makes it sound much better, and then take the plug out when you want to raise the frequency for comps. Go to www.jlaudio.com/tutorials/ports/index.html and use the formula to figure out the correct port length and what not.

Yes, 2 seperate boxes, each holding 2 subs. Making a cover or plug for the port is a possiblity, but 1.7cuft should still be sufficient? Meaning the box size shouldn't change if i'm making the port smaller? I still need to figure out the dimensions and everything for the base box. Thx for your reply

No, the volume of the box(1.7) will not change due to a change in the area of the port, unless you move the outside walls of the port. You do not count the volume of the port in the volume of the actual box.
