Putting 3" lifting blocks on my 01 sport and realized i might need new shocks. Do i? also if i go w. a 2" blocks do i need new shocks?

If i do need new shock for either lift which ones can i get..not trying to spend too much

Thanks

You will be fine to drive it on the street I would guess, the best thing you could do is install the blocks and not attach the shocks, pull them to max extension and see if that is long enough for any downtravel on the street.

I would reccommend longer shocks, but the stock shocks might just work for you. I ran a spring over axle and ran the shocks for a 2.5" explorer lift with plenty of flex. Also there is a trick to extending your shocks, you can get 2 longer bolts for the top mounting location on the "bar pins" and run some washers or a small block to space them down. Not the best solution, but it works.

For shocks...I'm really impressed with Bilstien but even your basic skyjacker or Rancho 5000 will be an improvement over stock ride.
Here is a pic explaining how you would put a spacer over the bar pin. The red squares would be where you would stack the spacer (I've even seen washers used).

thanks bro..
now this might sound stupid but where do i put the blocks? B.c if i put them on like the suspension is now i would be dropping the truck 3".

This is the frist truck i lift..i usually drop them
Thanks in advance

thanks...so my best bet is doing 4dr leaf springs and shackles right?
I'm trying to make the rear higher. I have new leaf springs but the rear is still sagging

Shackles will help alot with lifting the back end. I've seen some cost as low as $50 and it's just about as hard as replacing the leafs.
