'93 XLT
Hello,
I am a new car owner. I have a 1993 Ford Explorer XLT. There are possible transmission issues with it, but it doesnt seem plausible. The truck sometimes acts like it is in neutral whether i have it in reverse or drive. When the truck warms up though, it works fine. I dont even know where to possibly to start to look for an issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated please.
Thank you.

Did you start with the basics ? Enough tranny fluid ? How does it look, when was the last time it was changed ?

Welcome to this forum! Did you check the fluid level when it's cold? It might be fine when it's hot, but low when it's cold. The valve body gaskets might be going bad or the valve body bolts could be loose.

Basics were checked. Trans is actually fine, the transfer case is what im wondering about. Are there any sensors/actuators located in the transfer case? it also does it mainly when i hit a bump. the valve body possibly is it.
