Hi guys,
Vehicle:
2005 Ford Explorer w/ 4.0 SOHC v6
Backstory:
I get a call from my wife that her "engine is knocking" so I rush up to her work place. Its not knocking, but it is misfiring badly. Turns out all three cylinders on the passenger side. I assume headgasket, so I have it towed to the house and start pulling stuff out. Take the valve cover off and instead of having a bad headgasket the plastic guide piece that rests against the chain that drives the cam shaft has broken and the engine jumped time.
Fast Forward:
Engine is pulled, and I've had both heads checked over (and ultimately rebuilt, 4 bad valves on passenger side, 2 bad on the driver side) and they're back. I've ordered a complete gasket kit for heads, valve covers etc since I might as well do all that while I'm in here. No here is my problem that is likely associated with me not having any clue what its called. Those plastic chain guards are whatever that broke on me. I need to order those for the rear chain in the passenger head and i'm going to go ahead and replace the one in the drivers side head that is up front while i'm at it.
I just can't find them.
Please help, this has already cost a lot more than it needs to with me being unemployed, but I've got to get her vehicle running again, because only having one is getting difficult.
Thanks,
Tearik (and his wife)
