need help for installing new wiring harness please have a look

hi, like everytime i need help :roll:
I have a 98 explorer eddied bauer 4.0L sohc
i hade a problem with distribution box and it's wirring harness , it was burned
so i decided to change it so i got another used one but i notice
1- in my old distribution box i had a maxi fuse number seven the new one does not have number 7 fuse and in user manual they said it is not used !!!
2- at the 3 main connectors (plugs) black gray brown that goes to the cabin there was a little diiferrence of pin numbers
3- i had two sensers in the old wirring harness one was brown with part number f87f-12a647-aa and the other is grey i knew latter that the brown one is ambient temp sensor, but in the new wirring i had only the brown one and no place for the other instead another connector with a squared black plastic :fire:
so my questions are >> what is that grey sensor and why i have two in my old wiring harness , and will the new one work?!!!!!!!


please i need help i'm not from america and i hope some one will help me because i'm STUCK and spare parts for ford is problem here and very expensive

i have a 1997 ford explorer xl 4.0 v-6 with a 5-speed automatic with 4wd and im replace my power distribution box with the headlight harness the first time i got the wrong they give a 96 ford explore 5.0 v-8 i told the guy you give wrong one 2nd time i pray to god this one works because i need my 1997 ford explorer xl back on the road

yeah i got a 96 one either but for the sohc engine like mine . everything worked except the air conditioner system... hahahaaaa i'm tired

The engine bay wiring harness is different depending on whether you have the climate control/message center, or the manual ac and no message center. Sounds like you got the wrong one.

The harness also varies depending on what engine is installed in the vehicle.
