okay so it's been a while but finals are over and I'm bound and determined to figure this pain in the ass out! I took your advice and bought an OBDII. The one and only code I get is P0401 which, after much reading, seems to always get a "replace your dpfe sensor" as a response. I have no idea if that has anything at all to do with the horn, cruise, airbag issue but I'm anxious to get to the bottom of it. So here's what I know so far:
I know the horn itself isn't bad. It sounds when I double lock the doors.
I know the fuses are all good I've triple checked them
I know the clockspring is new -- btw is it possible that I made some bonehead mistake in the installation that would make it not work.. I wasn't sure about how tight the wheel bolt had to go in but it's not loose or anything no wobbles or shakes.
The CC buttons which had briefly made me ever so happy with their momentary pushability are now dissapointingly unpushable again and I couldn't run the check you sent me because I have no lights associated with them in the wheel or on the dash.
Help me out here wise masters of the Ranger.
