Hello there,

Was wondering if anyone could help me identify what this part is. Its on the driver's side on the side of the block and you have to access it from underneath. It has a weird connector on it that I've never seen before.

I don't think its the temp sending unit or the oil pressure sending unit because those are towards the front of the engine on that side and i have located them. Whatever this is, is leaking oil and is looking pretty rough.

I cannot find it in my repair manuals either. Our Napa doesn't know. I've looked thru connectors online and nothing matches.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you :)

Is it ironic that my low oil light goes on because it's the one leaking oil? (joking)

I also have an issue with oil vapor collecting in the intake and pooling up in the back. I'm wondering if an oil catch can will fix that.

Thanks,
Az

If you mean pooling in the intake manifold,.... yeah, don't know how to stop that but don't cinsider it a problem, unless it occurs quickly.Accumulation from the crank case venting occurs over thousands of miles. Harms only the cold air intake tube over a long while. That is why the dissintegration happens afaik.

Wouldn't call it ironic. Would call it helpful that you can positively identify a failed part. Failed parts are helpful. The parts that are between healthy and failed are the ones to resent.

I am considering it a problem because theres so much of it that its coming out the tailpipe and its affecting the way it runs. You can really tell in the winter time by the black marks my car leaves behind.

I ordered up a new o2 sensor and some other odds and ends.

Thank you for helping me with identifying this piece. :)

Looks like your part has been found but a great website for manuals for these things is charm.li they have plenty of vehicles on there
