my '01 sport just ran out of warrany about 2k miles ago and now the check engine light is coming on. Dealership wants $100 diagnostic fee of course I would rather not have to pay. Anyone have a way to find out what the h@ll is wrong without shelling out money for nothing? thnks

Im not sure anymore and i think there was a certain year they wouldnt do it to, but autozone will read the code for free.

looks like I am gonna have to bite the bullet and pay the $100

No you don't! Try going to an AutoZone before you spend $100 at a dealership just to read some codes...
as was said...Autozone can read codes for free on most makes and models...

I have an OBD-2 scanner, not sure if it works on the 2001 but it works on my 2000 F-150. Where ats in Denver are you at?

autozone said they could read it for me, thanks.

ok then.
