I own a 1999 Explorer Sport, and want to change the front and rear shocks and/or suspension. My interest is to add either air shocks or hydralic shocks, with the necessary compressor, to allow me to lower the front/rear/both at will and likewise raise it back up to it's current height or even higher.

Does anyone have any recommendation on hardware for this? I've looked around but most stuff I find is for Ford F series or Chevolet. Any recommendations on websites or stores in Los Angeles would be great!

Thanks in advance!

Stay away from air. None of my past experiences have been pleasant. Air lines are normally small, brittle pieces of plastic that are not suited for off road driving. Most have plastic couplings and flairs that bust or strip out easily. As far as hydralic, This has never out weighed the cost of the installation. I do not have elaberate mods and do not believe in them, If it is not useful or enhance the performace of your truck, why do it?

Help with Air Shocks/Hydraulic Shocks / HyperTech chip??

Well my idea is more sport truck then off roading. So for right now I don't think using air shocks would be that bad. However within the year I may start taking it offroad, so I might as well not do air in that case now.

But yeah, basically I'm going for a sport truck look more then anything right now. That's why I'm considering hydralic shocks/compressor.

Also, I'm trying to find out about chips I can use over the stock one to boost performance. I read something about the HyperTech chip? Sounded good but haven't found any place to buy it.

Thanks for the info!
