Need help installing factory sub into 02 Explorer

Just bought a used factory sub w/amp for my wife's 02 Explorer to mount in the left rear storage compartment. At this time, we just plan to keep the existing factory HU - single CD in-dash. All she wanted was a bit more bass.

Since she did not have a subwoofer previously, what do I need to do to hook this up for her? What should I connect and where?

Are you planning on geting rid of the storage area specific parts? I have a 2001 sport and have a cutombox built for it but I want to take out the stock sub and make it like the storage area on the base model. I have a graphite interior. I'm not exactly sure how I would go about doing this.
