Now, everything was going smooth and although I snaped three bolts I got a problem when I got to the bolt right above a gas tank. In a back, when the entire assembly started spinning I just used vise grips to hold down to the lower portion while turning from above. NOW! above the tank the entire assembly is spinning too!! I got no room to hold down on the bolt except to take the gas tank off. Should I just drill through from the top????????

Help here, please

Well, you could go ahead and do everything up til the point that you have to jack up the body, and then lift it up as far as you can, then try to get your hand under there to keep it from spinning. Maybe that will work?? I am so glad I didn't break any bolts like everyone else say they have, mine went through pretty smoothly except for the fact it seemed kinda hard cause I did it all by myself. But I hope you get it all done, all though you could take out the spare tire and try to reach under there, hold it, and have someone else spin it from the top? Hope I helped you out, and good luck

Thanks.....

.....for your kind words good man. I tried as you said even before screaming for help. Jacked it up, all the way up, (I took the spare out even before starting) got there underneath, used my monkey wrench, got it on the bolt, tied it to the closest fixed part and turned the whole thing about half a turn before the wrench snaped. I did not have anybody to help me here. Unfortunately, well I know I should of called a few guys off the list here since they promissed to help me with this task. It would of been done by now. Sheeeesh,,, well, I got one side up and on the blocks, will wait till tomorrow to get the bolt out. To do this I have to go to Sears get some nice drill bits. The ones I have virtually melted when I used them. I only got like a 1/4 inch whole in the bolt so far. Now, I need to replace the front bushings, right? I mean, that's what the instruction says. Anyway, I snaped these front bolts, both of them so I'll have to cut through these anyway, right???? I mean, how would you get these off otherwise??? These are stuck like glue, super glue. Thanks God for grinders, angle grinders. Whatever I could I cut with a grinder before even starting to turn. For some odd reason my truck developed cancer all over underneath after last winter. Well, at least now I can see if that POR-15 stuff will work as good on my truck as it worked on my old VW. It'll be a while before I start rolling again. Well, go to sleep now so I can start early tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Anybody close enough to stop by my place and help me with this????? Drop me a line!

Thanks again,
:D
