There may be something in Haynes, but it is pretty straightforward.
1. Ensure no refrigerant is in system
2. Remove the accessory belt
3. Disconnect the hose block on the back
4. Remove the 4 bolts that hold on the compressor
5. Fill new compressor with 4 oz of PAG 100 oil or whatever manufacturer recommends and bolt to block
6. Attach hose block on back with new orings, torque bolt to 15 pounds
7. Evacuate system, secure pump and ensure vacuum holds for 15 minutes
8. Continue evacuation for 45 minutes
9. Install refrigerant
Reasonably straightforward. It is usually recommended to change the accumulator and orifice at this time also if it has been 3 yrs since last time they were changed. It is assumed that you are using R134a. If not, see stickie above for conversion or fill with R12.
