Need help on Explorer decision (V8) any common problems

I owned a 94 4.0 explorer about 3 years ago it was great.

I currently own a 01 nissan xterra V6 its going to need some work im trying to decided if i should sell and buy a local 1998 Explorer 5.0 V8

So im trying to find out if there is anything i need to know about the 1998 Explorers with 5.0 engine. Any help guys would be appreciated
