Everything was working fine and I shut the truck off for 5 minutes. When I started it back up all i heard was a thumping in the subs, kinda like a hearbeat sound. There is no sound through the subs at all except for that thump sound and both the red and green lights are flashing. I know that I probably cant fix this but id like to determine if its the amp or the subs.

Sounds like a capacitor is charging then discharging. Check your radio and Amp connections especially the grounds.

check ur RCAs and power..look over everything make sure the power isnt touching the amp chasis and make sure none of the sub wires are touching the amp chasis

normally when an amp dies it wont beat like u are talking..normally that is something grounding

my friend had that when his RCAs took a crap..well his soldering took a crap so the post and neg touched making the subs pulsate

try unpluging the RCAs and the sub wires just leave the remote power and ground..then turn on the car..does the amps lights still flash?? next connect the RCAs then turn on the car if they dont flash then start re conecting the subs untill it does it again..

hope that helps

Thanks for the help. I unplugged the RCA's and the speaker wires to the subs, turned the car on and now just the green light flashes.

The red light only flashes when i hook up the speaker wires to the subs.

Sorry for this stupid question but im trying to figure this out. When I take my volt meter and put on continuity and touch one lead to the truck and the other to the end of the ground wire at the amp it does complete the circuit and beep. Does this mean its not a grounding issue?

if the amp lights light up normal w.o the speakers hooked up that is leading me to belive it is speaker related or the terminals on the amp related..so i am assuming it is not a ground issue

do u have 1 sub or 2? 2 channel amp or 1 channel...if it is a 1 channel roate with 1 sub only and see if one sub or the other will set off the amp or if both do it...if u have a 2 channel amp then do that with both sides

trying to narrow it down a bit =)

The green light never lights up solid, it flashes with the speakers unhooked. I have a 2 channel amp and 2 subs, I will go out see what happens. Thanks.

hey redrig..do u have AOL? or MSN? might be easier to real time chat..aol is XZXmike71 msn is mhn3773(at)hotmail(dot)com

It is the amps power supply. Thanks for the help.
