2007 Ford Explorer XLT
Hello, I am 19 years old and have the fortune of my parents buying me a car. It is a 2007 Ford Explorer XLT, around 138k miles. When we first got the car things were okay, and then some issues occured:

Around 2-3 days after getting the car registered with the DMV, I went for a drive to get a feel for the car. However, I had to get gas, so I turned my car off at the gas station and had it filled up. When I tried turning the car on, all I heard was a clunk sound. Luckily a mechanic at the gas station jumped me, and recommended that I get a new battery for the car. We got the new battery as soon as possible, and since then there has been no issues in regards to start up.

However, yesterday, when I was at a stop sign, after taking off from the stop sign, I noticed that the car stopped accelerating. The gas pedal felt loose, and that's when I figured out the car had turned off on me while driving. I had to twist the key back and forth 3-4 times before the car successfully started up again. I parked the car and came back out to use it to run some errands around a couple of hours later, and during this drive I had no issues. A friend of mine thinks it could be the alternator, but I am not sure as to what the issue could really be.

Welcome to the forum.
Tire pressure sensor fault is a pretty common problem. There is a thread here about that.
If there is an Auto Zone or O'Reilly's or some other auto parts store around, even a WalMart they will check your charging system and let you know how it is doing. Check under the hood for any loose connections or bad/corroded grounds or battery terminal problems.
You are just at the beginning of a great learning experience.
Good Luck
Kent
