Need Help With Grill Guard Sizing

So I am not sure if I am in the right place, I am still rather new to this forum :/ I have the chance to obtain a grill guard off of a 2001 Explorer Sport Trac. However, before I buy it, I would like to know if it would be able to fit on a 2002 Explorer XLT. I measured the distance from my mounting bolts where my tow hooks are, and it came to 30" (unless I measured wrong), and the guy said that the measurements on the guard are 29.5". So, as close as this is to 30, I still wanted to be on the safe side and ask. So, any ideas as to if it would work? I searched already on the forum, and wasn't lucky at finding anything about a sport trac to a xlt. All help is appreciated, thanks!

Seeing how the 2001 is a gen 2 and the 2002 is a gen 3 it would be hard to imagine that it would work.

In my earlier days I made the mistake of getting a 2001 Explorer guard for my 2003. That did not work and since the sport tracs are more closely related to second gens I would almost certainly guarantee it not being a correct fit.

If you're dying for a guard though, check out Truck Gear Direct's Hunter grill guards on eBay. Good stuff for a good price. I can attest to the quality.

See, I have heard that some people have had issues with the installation of Hunter Grill guards. Did you have any issues with yours?

None whatsoever. I'm beyond satisfied. Installation was a breeze for me.
