i need professional help. i recently blew the motor out of my 96 explorer i had it replaced with another 4.0 litre ohv.the new motor is a rebuilt '95 4.0(the shop picked this motor) and every since the swap my idle is exremly high when in park or nuetral then drops down real low then shoots up again over and over. when in gear it usually doesnt happen but sometimes it will stall out.It has a new IAC valve and new plugs,wires,coil,waterpump,thermastat..etc.. but what i figured is that maybe the type OBD such as the 95 is said to use a OBD1 and 96 on up uses a OBD2 system could this be the cause of litttle to no idle control if not please give me your opinion.the shop tried for about a week (unknown man hours though) to figure out the problem but failed. they told me to drive it for about a week to see if it gets better on its own but it hasnt.please help me!
