I was able to wiggle mine around enough to squeeze it in and out without removing the exhaust each time I did mine. I think I did remove the cross member the radius arms go into, iirc, and I think that was what gave me enough wiggle room. I definitely takes some patience, (and a few choice words) but you should be able to get it. It just takes trial and error to get the right "angle" on it. You can also put a block of wood on a floor jack under the front of the engine and get a little better access. Good luck!

Is it safe to remove that cross member while my car is on ramps?

i just did this a month or so ago you do need the support off that the trans mounts to and the secret to getting it in is the trans well under the truck there is a pinch weld that hangs down about a inch. find a way to bend it flush or by any way possible get the center 2 inches of the metal up. this gives you the ability to get the bell housing on top past that point and then you can pick it up enough to clear the y pipe. oh and to get it past i found putting the starter hole in line with the y pipe elbow on the drivers side then spin it straight after you get it clear

any questions give me a call 8109568980

i did not pull the radius arms

You can get the automatic transmission in and out without removing the Y-pipe. Its not easy but not hard You'll need to fanaggle it side to side lower the tail end down and up and it will go over the Y pipe no problem. Two people helps one guiding the front while the other works the floor jack.

Smash the body seam flat

did you get it
