I have an Alpine 9835 and I like it but it is expensive. I got mine on eBay.

i have the pioneer deh7600mp and I love it , it has alot of sound options and fine tuning and sounds great.

Go with an eclipse, I've had mine for almost 4 years and still going strong.

everyone has their own opinion.

i vote you get something that not everyone else has. who wants a hu you can buy at best buy or circuit city.

you'd honestly rather have the same one as your friends and every other fool you see?

no wonder you have an explorer...

lol the good thing about having the bestbuy radio everyone else has is the 4 year warranty even if you mess it up your self. thats the only reason i went with bestbuy.

well, plenty of other companies offer warranties.

also, best buy is not exactly known for actually upholding their end of the bargain on those psp's. there are at least 3 states with class action law suits against them for not doing so...

Trying not to be biased, but I work a Circuit City, and compared to how we treat our customers and hold up our end puts us on top of BB, easily. We don't carry much pioneer speakers (about 80% of BB's speaker selection), but we sell mostly Infinity, Alpine and Pioneer (HU). At our store, a warranty is a warranty, I'd like to think we handle our guarentees alot better than BB.

I have a Pioneer 7500MP myself. Love the unit.

I also work for Circuit City (car audio/security installer) The warranty is the biggest reason why I go with what we carry in store, that way you can always know you will be taken care of. I for one don't have to go out of my way to get stuff that no one else has, this way I know what works and what doesn't because I have heard by word of mouth and popular opinion that it is good quality.

well, the companies i was indirectly suggesting- eclipse and clarion certainly have high popular opinion and quality. you'd be hard pressed to find someone who would say they aren't "better" than the other choices listed here.

nothing wrong with buying what you have in the store that y ou work in though. nothing at all.

i run the clarion 945dxz coupled with the dvh-940 processor

Inmy opinion, get something that you know you like. Who gives a crap if every Joe Blow has one or not. It is better to get a proven deck that you know has all the bells and whistles you want than to try something that no one has or heard of and then hate the thing from day 1. When buying a head unit, go with your gut instinct.

I went with my wallet... last year at CC, alpine 9807 brand new for 138.00
My ears thank me every day! But then again I equalize the hell out of the signal, so deck choice wasn't really THAT important to me, I just mainly needed a powerful remote to run my system in SPL comps....
