Hello everyone, and Happy Holidays to you and yours.
Here's the story... I have a 94 EX 4wd that I have put alot of money into, and it runs great. The thing is I am a tilesetter by trade, and at times I'm required to carry alot of weight.. 1/2 -1 ton (try to put it as forward as possible). I would like to upgrade my suspension. Would just replacing the leafs with a stiffer set do the trick ? or is there more I can do?. I am aware that there is the chance of snapping an axle if I really try to overdo the weight carried. I DO NOT want to purchase another truck, as I already have a 450.00 a month payment on the wife's car.
Thanks for any input.

add a leaves and helper springs will help the payload, but make it ride bad when unloaded....aslo a good set of shocks will help with the ride

Your cheapist bet would most likely be add-a-leafs from Summit racing or 4wheel parts. By giving your rear end lift and a higher spring rate, you should be able to carry more loads without bottoming out.

However, I'm not sure how much more capacity this would give you. JC Whitney and other places do sell overload springs that bolt ontop of the current leaf pack.

With that much weight wouldn't it be better to buy a trailer???

F150 leaf springs. ;)
