Could someone please give me the correct part# for the flowmaster muffler that I would need to fit on my 97 V8 4-door explorer. I need one that has 2 inlets and 1 outlet. I've looked through summit and Jeg's and all they have are ones that are 1 in and 2 out. I'm looking for one of the 50 series 3-chambered mufflers. Will this muffler be really noisy, I just want it a little deeper sounding than stock. Thanks.

Check FlowmasterMuffler. They have a complete catalog that you can access to find the correct part number. Remember that everyone's definition of loud is different. You may want to try to find someone who has one installed on an Explorer to judge for yourself.

I've got one of these on mine. It's not too loud on the outside, but it's way boomy inside. If you really want one, it's P/N 524553.

I'm currently unable to send e-mail, so I'll respond here.

It's 3" from the muffler back. It's WAY annoying inside. This is the 7th vehicle I've had Flowmaster(s) on. The true duals always resonated, but the singles were all great before this one. And from the outside, it's not even that loud.

It looks like Dynomax makes a Super Turbo that would work for this install (Two 2 1/4" in, one 3" out). I haven't crawled underneath to take the measurements yet, but if it's a fit, that's what I'm getting.

I haven't heard one with a 70 series on it, but I wouldn't want it any quieter on the outside. If you were to hear mine from the outside, you wouldn't believe how much louder it seems inside.

Hope this helps!

Pete

Have you guys tried laying down some DynoMat on the floor above your muffler? That would decrease interior noise alot.
