Need positive cable for 92 XLT-anyplace other than Ford...GOT 'EM...thanks!!!

Where can I get a new one, (and appx. how much) other than Ford (NAPA, etc.)...don't have any AutoZone's nearby, just Pep Boy's, NAPA, and CarQuest.

If I have to go to Ford, what do they charge for the part.

Last couple of those I bought from Ford were in the $50-60 range. If you can make it yourself I would. No other store that I went to when mine did go bad carried that part. Dealer Only is what I was told.

Send an email to torrie@fordpartsnetwork.com (www.fordpartsnetwork.com) and see if he can get the cable for you. I highly recommend them. I just got an overhead console bracket from them for MUCH less than the nearest Ford dealer wanted for it. If it's a dealer only part, then I'm sure he can get it for you for less than a dealer could. Worth a try.

I bought mine from NAPA. Don't remember the cost, but it was much cheaper than dealer. I've had it on the truck for more than a year and no problems with it.

85Dave, you are correct...got both the positive and negative for $52.45...thanks.

The NAPA part numbers are:

Positive-717993-$22.47
Negative-717991-$29.98

Installed both, went OK...high quality, 4 gauge cable, correct length...the battery post fittings were aluminum, but all in all a great deal...I will post a thread with the part numbers as alot of folks seem to want them.

The bad news...now my battery light is on, and it wasn't before...but that's another thread.
